ABOUT Me
professional
As a professional photographer, I take my work and reputation seriously. That’s why I’m a member of the Professional Photographers of America and continually hone my skills—both behind the camera and in post-processing. My business is licensed and insured, and a proud member of the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce.
my philosophy
I’ve lived behind the lens for over 15 years. I got my start as a nature photographer and expanded my expertise as I discovered the joys of capturing the details of all facets of life—people, places, action.
In an age of micro-niches, my philosophy is “Don’t fence me in.” I love all styles of photography and I love making digital art with my images. I relish the challenge of dancing between the different aspects of this craft. That’s why I don’t limit myself to a single niche. I’m a stronger photographer and artist for constantly working in a variety of scenarios.
beyond the shutter
Outside of my professional life, I’m an avid motorcyclist, naturalist, and adventurer. I’ve been blogging about my adventures on Val in Real Life for well over a decade as well as on Propane and Bourbon with my life partner, J. Brandon. Together we run Sierra Mountain Passes dedicated to travel in the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
I also fervently believe in giving back to my community. I volunteer for the Gila Native Plant Society, the Silver City Watershed Keepers, and I serve as President of the Silver City Art Association. I also donate support various local charities through monetary and in-kind donations.
